Alaric Overbey came to Dallas with a mission — to help bring healthy food to the South Dallas area. After a successful corporate sales career in California, Alaric started learning about farming. He came to South Dallas because he knew it was a food desert – access to fresh fruits and vegetables is difficult.
What’s really interesting is that even though there isn’t much farm land in South Dallas, Alaric has found a way to use vertical space to grow his crops. And his methods don’t even require soil or dirt! And they grow faster than normal crops! When he wakes up in the morning and has extra kale, lettuce or other veggies and fruits growing in his store, he thinks “Who can I give this to today?”
